Senegal Publish Roster Ahead of Qualifer Against Cameroon
Senegal have released a list of 24 players called up for the AFCON qualifying against Cameroon…

Senegal national team coach Amara Traore has published the list of players called up to face Cameroon on March 26 in Dakar during the third round of the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifying.

The Teranga Lions are topping their Group E with 6 points and previews suggest they stand a better chance of toppling the Indomitable Lions and consolidating their standing, but Senegal coach says Cameroon are the true favourites of encounter.

“Cameroon are the natural favourites of our group,” Traore said at a press conference in Dakar Thursday.

“It’s like in a film. You’ve got the hero and the villain. Considering what Cameroon have done in African football over the past years, in the World Cup, African Nations Cup and their current Fifa ranking, we can say that they’re the frontrunners.”

Cameroon coach Javier Clement had also extolled the virtues of the Senegal team.

Wigan midfielder Mohamed Diamé is the only newcomer of the Senegal’s 24-man squad. Every other player has one time or another honoured a call up.
