“In order to have a chance to advance, Milan will need to play a perfect game. It will be a difficult match, but we are well prepared. They have unpredictable players on the flanks; a bit of luck wouldn’t do any harm either.”
MILAN - Here is what Massimiliano Allegri and Clarence Seedorf had to say in Milan’s pre-game press conference on the eve of the Rossoneri’s Champions League clash against Tottenham:
“Tottenham are a team which plays in a different way at home. At White Hart Lane they play an even more technical football, running a lot as well. In order to have a chance to advance, Milan will need to play a perfect game. It will be a difficult match, but we are well prepared. They have unpredictable players on the flanks; a bit of luck wouldn’t do any harm either. Boateng trained with the rest of the squad in the morning and did well enough. He’s likely to play from the beginning, I’ll still have to do decide whether to play him in the three-man midfield or right behind the strikers”.
“You will see a great Milan against Tottenham. We want to play like we did in Munich four years ago: it was a different story, but in any case we’re ready to do what is need here. It will take courage, we must be aware of our strength. If I wore the captain’s armband it would be a great honour. Me as playmaker? I just want to play, that’s all. The position doesn’t matter. Against Tottenham, I’ll have to give something extra, taking advantage of my technique and experience. We all know Flamini’s style, a lot of players in the Premier League play like him. Gattuso has already apologised and when such a great player apologises publicly I think it’s right not to raise the issue anymore.”
