Eric Abidal's Future At Barcelona Will Be Analysed After His Surgery - Vice-President Josep Maria Bartomeu
Publicado por wasa en 12:49Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed that the future of Eric Abidal will come under focus from this Thursday.
Following confirmation that he has a tumor in his liver, the French defender will undergo surgery tomorrow at 16.00 CET in Barnaclinic of the Hospital Clinic group.

Everyone at Barcelona is supporting the 31-year-old but there are concerns over his long-term future at Camp Nou, with the club's vice-president Bartomeu now disclosing to RAC1 radio that the Blaugrana "will analyse [Abidal's future] from this Thursday."
Abidal's current contract with the Spanish giants runs until June 30, 2011 but Barcelona have said that they will extend it if the former Olympique Lyonnais left-back recovers from the operation and can carry on playing.
Bartomeu also confirmed that Barcelona will not sign a replacement for Abidal, but stated the his place in the first-team will now be taken by 21-year-old Andreu Fontás, who has already featured for the former European champions this season.
